Power of Thinking

The infinite strength of the world is yours. Drive out the superstition that has covered your minds. Let us be brave.By degrees the heart has to be strengthened. If one man is made, it equals the result of a thousand lectures.Whatever you think, that you will be. If you think yourselves weak, weak you will be; if you think yourselves strong, strong you will be; if you think yourselves impure, impure you will be; if you think yourselves pure, pure you will be. This teaches us not to think ourselves as weak, but as strong, omnipotent, omniscient.

Earth Hour (26 March at 8.30pm- 9:30pm )

Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million homes and businesses turned their lights off for one hour to make their stand against climate change. Only a year later and Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries participating. Global landmarks such as the, Sydney Harbour Bridge, The CN Tower in Toronto, The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome’s Colosseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.
In March 2009, India alongwith hundreds of millions of people took part in the third Earth Hour. Over 4000 cities in 88 countries officially switched off to pledge their support for the planet, making Earth Hour 2009 the world’s largest global climate change initiative.
On Saturday 27 March, Earth Hour 2010 became the biggest Earth Hour ever. A record 128 countries and territories joined the global display of climate action. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas switched off. People across the world from all walks of life turned off their lights and came together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet.
Earth Hour 2011 will take place on Saturday 26 March at 8.30PM (local time). This Earth Hour we want you to go beyond the hour, so after the lights go back on think about what else you can do to make a difference. Together our actions add up.

Happy Holi

=============================================
Holi calls to put an end to any hard feelings that might have cropped up during the year. People apply colour and give each other a friends hug as they greet Holi, the tradition is called, 'Holi Milan'. It is strongly believed that even enemies turn friend on the day of Holi.

To enjoy a safe Holi,

• Play Holi only with a group of close friends and relatives as against strangers.

• do not buy synthetic colours and loose powdered dyes. Instead opt for skin friendly vegetable or natural colours.
• apply a thick layer of moisturizer, petroleum jelly or coconut oil on your face and other exposed parts to prevent dyes and colours from coming into direct contact with your skin.
• oil your hair well so that residue from the dyes does not get stuck to your hair and scalp.
• wear clothes with long sleeves and full length bottoms to protect your skin.
• stay away from intoxicants, such as bhang etc.
•Don’t walk alone on the streets on the Holi day. You’ll be a sure target for miscreants.

World is at your feet

Knowledge

If we do not plant knowledge when young, it will give us no shade when we are old.
